Welcome to my NYC Gotham Experience. Enjoy the ride!
Hi! My name is Dory Daly. I'm a native Long Islander and not your typical Molloy College student. I'm married with two amazing children, James and Erin, ages 9 and 10 respectively.
As you can imagine, as a wife, mother, sister, friend, full time student, short order cook, laundress, taxi driver and homemaker, counselor, problem solver...the list goes on and ON... I am very busy! I look forward to this class in particular because this is an opportunity not presented to many. I consider myself fortunate to have access to the time and funds necessary to take part in this class. It's something I'm doing for myself when I spend a lot of time doing for others.
I'm about to begin a new chapter in my life as a Registered Nurse. I previously had my broker's license and worked in the commercial insurance industry. It was a career that I fell into out of convenience.. Quite frankly, it sucked. The only reason I continued to do it was because it paid the bills. It was honestly a thankless job that I loathed with every fiber within my body. Have I mentioned that I didn't care for my career in insurance? Do you get the point yet?
I look forward to being a healthcare provider because I view it as a noble profession in which I can feel I'm helping people and making a difference in the world. Nursing is so much a part of who I am. I am a doter and nurturer, I think quickly on my feet, react to situations naturally. I think I'll be great. Actually, I know I'll be great! Let's call this my small contribution to improving mankind. Did you know that Nursing is considered one of the most trusted professions? My patients will be in good hands.
That said, I look forward to the NY Gotham Experience and also getting to know Mike Russo and my fellow classmates better. Let's DO THIS!
